Paula Cottom is the owner and handler at Serenity Pet Services.
She is a life-long animal lover. A native of Boston, Mass., she has lived in Novato for over 35 years. She is a retired nurse whose primary specialty was in cardiac intensive care. She has worked as a receptionist in a veterinary clinic where she also assisted in providing animal care. As an experienced handler, and with her past medical experience, she is capable of handling many pet medical emergencies.
After many years of adhering to an inflexible work schedule and the routine of an office environment, Paula has ventured out into the world of pet care. In addition to her pet care activities, she is also active in her community. Paula and her husband Jim happily live in Novato and as she puts it: "Although our children are now grown and on their own, we have a second family - our pets include Henry, a 3-year old Beagle, Molly, a 9-year-old Beagle, and Stella a tabby Maine Coon who we rescued from the Marin Humane Society with "Cattitude."
